DEPARTMENT OF STATE (DOS) CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
All real estate salespersons and brokers who are required to complete 22.5 hours of approved CE during each 2 yr. license period must include 3.0 hours of aproved Fair Housing Course work. The course being offered on May 9, 2013 fufills this Fair Housing requirement CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION FORM. You can also take CE courses that fulfill the Fair Housing requirement online. Individulas who hold a real estate appraiser license or certification must complete 28 hours of approved CE within each two year license period. The 7 hour USPAP Update Course must be completed during each two year period. This course can be applied toward the 28 hours of required CE. The Elmira-Corning Board is offering several CE courses in 2013 that are approved for appraisal CE. (see 2013 classroom schedule). Appraisers can also CLICK HERE to take CE course online. NAR'S 2.5 HOUR MANDATORY ETHICS REQUIREMENT -DEADLINE DEC. 31, 2016 Between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 every REALTOR must complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training, this includes appraiser members. There is NO grandfater clause regarding this requirement. In 2013 our classroom option is The 2013 Code of Ethics & Professional Training Course being offered in Ithaca on Feb. 1st 2013. Members can CLICK HERE take the 2.5 hour Code of Ethics course for FREE through NAR (this FREE course does not count toward CE credit). Members can also fulfill this NAR requirement by taking an online CE course through our partnerships with McKissock and the CE Shop. OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMSThe Elmira-Corning Regional Board of REALTORS® is a New York accredited school and offers a wide variety of continuing educaiton courses for real estate agents and appraisers. We offer these courses in a classroom setting and also offer courses online as well. We also offer pre-licensing courses to successfully prepare students for the New York State licensing exams. They include: the 75 hour Salesperson Qualifying Course, the 45 hour Brokers' Qualifying Course, and the 30 hour Remedial Course. We also offer these 3 licensing courses ONLINE for those students who are unable to fit the classroom courses into their busy schedules.
