This year we are offering over 60 credit hours locally in addition to our licensing courses. If our course schedule does not fit into your schedule, we also offer online courses as well. Reminder all licensees who are required to take continuing education to renew their license must take 22.5 hours of CE every license period. Of that 22.5 hours of CE 3.0 hours must be Fair Housing.

NAR REQUIREMENT-Between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 Every Realtor must complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics Training. This includes appraiser members. There is no grandfather clause regarding this requirement! This year we have 3 options that fulfill this requirement. You can take the course being offered on Februrary 1, 2013 (see schedule below), you can take the course for free through NAR's website (note this NAR online course does not count toward CE credit) or you can take an online course through our education partnerships. NEW YORK STATE REAL ESTATE EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS- Through its scholarship program, the New York State Real Estate Education Foundation (NYSREEF) aims to raise the level of knowledge, professionalism and client service among those in the real estate profession by encouraging participation in approved courses. Any individual who has at least one year experience in real estate sales and/ or related disciplines, who is licensed and practicing in New York State and who holds primary REALTOR membership in New York State is eligible. No state exam is given for the 30 hour Remedial Course, however, students must pass an end of the course exam. Those passing the exam also earn 19.5 hours of continuing education (3.0 hrs of Fair Housing would still be needed to fulfill the 22.5 hour CE requirement). Once the student has passed the end of class exam they may proceed to take the 45 hour Broker's Qualifying Course. Date: April 15th through April 29th, 2013
The instructor for the next two courses listed below, is Michelle Bradley. Michelle was first recognized by our agents at the 2011 Triple Play Convention. She received rave reviews for her presentations and we are very pleased that we were able to include two of her courses in our 2013 schedule. "It Didn't Appraise- Now What?" (3.0 CE Hrs)This session will provide a frank discussion about current requirements for appraisal reports. Facts versus myths will be presented on topics including: how to appeal an appraisal; what an appraiser can or cannot discuss; and staying in compliance with federal requirements. Information will be provided regarding new standardization of appraisals known as the Uniform Appriasal Dataset (UAD) and how it can benefit REALTORS. You'll learn tips to critically read the appraisal report to help defend your position. Tips will also be provided on taboo conversations when dealing with appraisers to ensure compliance with the Dodd Frank Financial Reform Legislation. *ALSO APPROVED FOR APPRAISERS! "Current Issues in Real Estate & Appraisals" (3.5 CE Hrs)This course centers on the discussion of changes real estate licensees and appraisers must be aware of surrounding appraisal related issues in today's lending environment. What issues affect the marketablility of the home? What repairs are required by VA and FHA? What would disqualify a home from being acceptable for a government loan program? The travel package includes bus transportaion to and from Atlantic City, and 3 nights' accommodations at Bally's Towers located on the board walk in Atlantic City.
